Single Automatic 4G Hybrid with HD Voice, AES/EBU & Analogue I/O With Ethernet
The DHY-04V VoLTE Hybrid operates over a cellular (mobile) phone network, delivering HD Voice quality calling over 4G. As legacy 3G and 2G mobile services are being phased out in many countries, the DHY-04V ensures high-quality broadcast calls remain possible. By inserting a SIM card into the rear panel slot and connecting a suitable GSM antenna, the unit can send and receive calls over the cellular network, converting the 4G call to a four-wire audio signal for seamless integration with a connected mixing console. The module in the DHY-04V is capable of making and receiving calls on any 4G GSM network, with fallback support for 3G and 2G when required.
Ideal for remote studios, OB vans, trucks on the move, and emergency situations where a landline cannot be guaranteed, the DHY-04V offers outstanding performance and reliability.
The DHY-04V includes all the features of the DHY-04, with additional front panel indicators and controls:
- Two LEDs indicating SIM enabled status and GSM network availability.
- A push button to display mobile signal strength on the meter LEDs.
HD Voice: The signal quality of HD Voice calls may vary during a call. While the hybrid is typically used in a fixed location (as even OB trucks are mostly stationary), the far end of the call may be a cellular phone, which can cause dynamic bandwidth changes. HD Voice support is dependent on three key factors:
- The method must be supported by the network (which may be limited by contractual agreements) and must be interoperable between networks if different carriers are involved in the call.
- Both ends of the call must use HD Voice-compatible equipment. This is determined at the time of call connection.
- Signal quality can fluctuate during the call. While positioning the antenna optimally ensures the best signal, the mobile caller’s movement can still cause variations.
Most network providers only offer HD Voice on 4G and 3G networks, though it may also be supported on some enhanced 2G networks.
The DHY-04v has the following features:
