What a lovely visit that we had to Maveriq Studios, one of the Dolby Atmos Facilities in Kuala Lumpur. The experience that we had is surreal, having an escapade to immersive world of 3D sound when listening to the Dolby ATMOS presentation.
The founder of Maveriq studios, Paul Morrison briefed us that the studio equipped with ADAM Audio monitors are setup in a 9.1.6 array. Providing the minimum spec for Dolby Atmos theatre as well as offering above spec for Dolby home entertainment. We also had a chance to watch snippets of movie clips that they have been working on, as well as some TV commercials and Music projects that have been up mixed to Dolby Atmos.Our group were also joined by Mr Shailender Singh who is the Regional Head of Dolby Singapore Pte Ltd to explain more to participants about their impressive technology in details. The field trip were carried on to a local cinema that have Dolby Atmos Movie giving participants a real live experience after 3 days of theoretical and practical classroom learning.
On the next day, the class continue for a webinar sessions with Dolby Laboratories’s Trainer, Mr. Geoffrey Low to answer and clarify further on their query especially on Dolby Technologies. The whole class had great mixtures of learning which giving them a very enjoyable and meaningful learning in tackling Multichannel Audio Production Mixing Techniques.
