MALAYSIA: In collaboration with Stagetec Asia, Han Chiang University College of Communication has recently completed a major upgrade to its radio studio with new broadcast technology. Located in Penang, on the Northwest coast of Malaysia, the university college is renowned for its excellence in media and communication education, offering a robust curriculum, combined with hands-on training and advanced facilities to equip its students for the evolving media landscape.
DHD DX2 Smart IP modular on-air consoles have been installed in the radio studio. The consoles have been designed for durability and regular use and feature motorised faders, a multitouch display and a central control and monitoring area. The addition of a GUI touchscreen further enhances operational efficiency for students and staff. Completed over a four-day period, the installation also included thorough training and commissioning.
Stagetec Asia also implemented Zenon Media’s Radio in a Box – Plug & Play Radio Automation system for the studio. This all-in-one solution has been designed to streamline contemporary broadcasting with features such as playlist scheduling, playout, database management, editing and voice tracking. “The Zenon Media Plug & Play automation system is perfectly suited for space-efficient environments,” noted Yap Wei Keong, senior project manager at Stagetec Asia. “Its pre-configured modules facilitate a straightforward setup and efficient broadcast management while supporting seamless system expansion.”
