Gombak, Malaysia: Internet Radio is becoming increasingly popular for Campus and University Radio due to its practicality, broad exposure and affordability in setting up a basic radio studio. With the advancement of technology and connectivity, radio streaming are able to transmit extensively reaching to every listener worldwide just with the internet connectivity. Therefore, with the same concept applied to IIUM.FM radio station, STAGETEC Asia was thrilled to commission the campus online radio based at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Gombak, Malaysia. STAGETEC Asia was overwhelmed with the project awarded by IIUM. FM since it was the first installation of a brand-new full IP Based Radio On Air Console ‘DHD 52SX2’ by DHD Audio in Malaysia.
Hence, it was a memorable moment for IIUM.FM and STAGETEC Asia, having the industry standard professional console from DHD Audio to complete the modern and sophisticated outlook of IIUM.FM’s radio studio. The most sought-after on-air console ‘DHD 52 SX2’ was such an invaluable investment for IIUM.FM in a long term because of its unequivocal performances and indisputable reliability shown over the years. Besides that, IIUM.FM also included a world leader broadcast automation system by Zenon Media that precisely catered for campus usage and webcasting radio. Special features such as ‘Visual Radio’ and ‘Voice Tracking’ was such a crowd pleaser exclusively dedicated for social media presence, jingles and voice over creation.
This is the second project collaboration with IIUM after a successful radio studio completion few years back in IIUM Language Department Faculty in Pagoh, Johor. It was definitely assurance of excellent credentials shown by STAGETEC Asia. Therefore, it was a huge honour to be once again delivering STAGETEC Asia’s trademark services of ‘Professional Sales Support & Technical Experts’ to IIUM.FM.
The project consisting of Digital Audio Mixer 52/SX2 that are connecting to DHD DSP core & I/O model that act as the main heart of the radio studio in managing every possible tasks given. Furthermore, the systems were meant for a powerful optimized performances with low power consumptions enabling 24/7 operation hours. Apart from that, the radio studio were also equipped with, Sonifex Telephone Hybrid HY-03 and Sonifex Profanity Delay RB-PD2. The microphones are fully mounted by Yellowtec m!kA mic arm which completed an overall sleeks and modern design studio ambiances.

Therefore, STAGETEC Asia was attentive in constructing a streaming radio workflow upon IIUM.FM’s customization and bespoke design.” The versatility of the core control module in supporting all formats of audio either Analogue, Digital, XLR, AES and Dante Audio has benefited and optimized user’s daily workflow. Additionally, Zenon Media software is fully developed and consistently evolves, which having various modules that suits for all user’s requirement. Hence, this would give students a live experiences in handling an industry scale automation system. Surely, IIUM University was astounded with the overall systems and equipments capabilities in the long haul.”
