MALAYSIA:
Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) recently commissioned a digital upgrade at one of its radio stations, Johor FM Permata Selatan. Having been appointed by the broadcaster’s commissioning and maintenance services to work on similar projects at some of RTM’s other stations, Stagetec Asia again handled this project. RTM Johor Bahru regional radio station is the first in Malaysia to embrace AoIP networking across all the studios. In addition, the main control room has been equipped with the same DHD audio solution installed at RTM Sibu, RTM Miri, RTM Sri Aman and RTM Limbang.
The broadcaster has most recently adopted Zenon Media’s Z-Admin web-based GUI, allowing access to various parameters of the automation system, in its radio automation station setup. During the current MCO lockdown period, Stagetec Asia was able to complete the upgrade onsite in the southern Malaysian city. The Stagetec Asia programmers created multiple user accounts for accessing the automation system with read-only, read-and-write, delete and administration functions. In addition to giving rights, administration can control and restrict users’ access to avoid any problems, while the new security feature ensures the automation system is shielded from unauthorised access and cyberattacks.
With the introduction of the BrowserQT software module, Zenon Media has further simplified everyday workflows. When conducting searches from the database, the enhanced SQL query is now available for the self-configuration of SQL statements. In addition, song rotation information found in BrowserQT assists in music scheduling. Producers can recall historic music playlists from the database based on parameters such as year of the song, name of singer and top hits of the years.
