MALAYSIA: In collaboration with Stagetec Asia, Malaysian business and current affairs radio station BFM 89.9 has undergone a technological revamp featuring solutions from Audio Video Technologies and DHD Audio. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the studio installation is aimed at elevating the listener experience, by providing audio mixing capabilities, enhanced sound quality and a streamlined workflow.
The integration includes the introduction of the MAGIC TH1Go telephone hybrid system from AVT into Studio C at BFM 89.9. Featuring web-browser-based operation, the system allows BFM to manage calls directly from digital devices, negating the need for traditional audio cabling via LAN. The setup is designed to streamline the pre-talk process, including streaming and recording to enhance operational efficiency.
Alongside the AVT system, Studio C has also implemented the DHD SX2 Smart IP Modular On-Air Console to boost its recording capabilities. The decision to install both technologies was a result of meticulous demonstrations and evaluations by Yuzwan Yusuf, broadcast operations manager at BFM. The DHD smart mixer offers simplified access to control settings and channel configurations for use in the fast-paced environment of radio broadcasting. Furthermore, the DHD system has been designed to be eco-friendly and easy to maintain, and it facilitates integration with the AVT telephone hybrid equipment to provide BFM 89.9 with operational fluency.
